Linnea’s Fourth Week

Hello again, I am back with a new blog post!

I’m halfway through my internship so I thought it would be nice to look back and see what I have learnt at Aquamarine Media so far.

When I came to the UK PPC was a completely new thing for me, I barely knewwhat it was. Over these last couple of weeks, I have developed my skills and now know the basics in how to manage accounts for clients. Oh, and not forgetting that I got my Google AdWords certification too!

I have learnt a lot about the social media aspect of the business. When I first arrived, I just knew pretty much what all young adults know about social media platforms, but there’s actually a big difference when you do it for a client. I have learnt how to manage accounts through Hootsuite, post blogs for clients through WordPress, compile monthly progress reports and much more. Alongside learning about digital marketing, I feel that I have also developed my spoken and written English, which was one of my goals with this internship.

These past weeks have been great and I’m now looking forward to gaining even more knowledge about all parts of the business. Last week was busy, we had a lot of work that needed to be done and several meetings and networking lunches to attend to - I really enjoy it when there is a lot to do.

I think it’s nice that we have so much variation in the work. Last week we attended The ExeFactor which is a big networking event where people from different local companies meet and socialise. There were speakers who talked about their businesses and visons - it’s always inspiring to attend these kinds of things and hear what other people do. This time we knew one of the speakers (as a client of ours) which made it even more interesting. We also went to an expo called the Business Showcase South West to look at the opportunities available to us if we were to exhibit next time.

What’s more, we now have a new member on the team. Scott has joined the Aquamarine squad as a PPC executive and I’m looking forward to working with him throughout the remainder of my internship.
